1. What does being an Entrepreneur mean to you?

It means never having to play it safe, say your sorry, or hide your radiance, because it doesn’t fit with your company’s culture. Entrepreneurship allows me to step into my truth and let my freak flag fly. It’s exciting how the more authentic and in flow that I am, the more that my business grows!

2. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be many things, a psychologist, a teacher, a female business owner. I guess I kind of became all three in a way.

3. When did you decide to be self employed?

It was after my cousin Jessica passed away from meningitis in December 2012 (I was 22 and she was 24 at the time) and I told myself, “God forbid if I was to die at 24. Did I live a full and expansive life?” So I quit the branding company I was working at, and pursued my inspiration blog, inspiremecafe.com (which has evolved into my marketing agency, inspiremecomm.co)

4. Who inspires you?

Elizabeth Gilbert has always held a soft spot in my heart. Her book Eat, Pray, Love inspired me to travel and start blogging. She’s one of my favorite authors of all time!

Funny story, I actually got to meet her at a talk she gave at Sacred Heart University. One of my good friends and spiritual mentors happened to work backstage in tech at the Edgerton Center for Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University. So his job was to do audio and lighting for the event. I ended up becoming his “assistant” for that night. I dressed in all black to fit the “techie” role. And while everyone had to wait in line to get their book signed by Liz. I got to meet her before the event, joke with her, and put her audio equipment on.

But it doesn’t stop there.

We were joking about drinking beer after the show and shooting witty comments back and forth. Well, let me just add that there is a reason why I am not an audio person. Her audio barely worked the whole event. I was SO EMBARRASSED! I had just met the person who inspires me the most, and I screwed up her audio on stage! It ended up being ok and I got over it (after months! haha). But still to this day I have a running joke with my spiritual mentor that the Universe one-upped me. Not only did I get to meet my role model Elizabeth Gilbert, but the Universe also let me put audio equipment up her shirt, and then it didn’t work! The Universe has a VERY FUNNY sense of humor!

5. What is non negotiable in your schedule?

Writing. Every day I write. Whether it is soul writing (which I absolutely love to do!) or writing quotes for social media (which makes me super happy!). I am writing something. One of my favorite things to do, especially when I feel anxious or overwhelmed is to pull out my journal. I open it up and then write, “What is it that I need to say?” usually it’ll start out slow, and then before I know it, I’ve filled over 4 pages worth of beautiful content.

6. What makes you feel ARGH!?

People who take advantage of other people.

I was looking for a coach for my business. I value mentors and building support systems for myself. So I ran into this guy who said that he builds 6-figure businesses and does it in an authentic way. I soon discovered there was NOTHING authentic about this guy, and it pissed me off that he would use the word “authentic” in the way he works with his clients. I’m a firm advocate for authenticity, honesty, and integrity. Who I choose to work with has to reflect those qualities. We live in such a transparent world that it confuses me why some people would push profits over people. Like, hello!

7. What do you do that helps you to feel more AHHH!?

I LOVE networking and connecting people. NOT the cheesy boring business networking type meetings. But the simple, go with the flow, in the moment networking.

Whenever I need an extra boost or I just want to fill my soul with happiness, I reach out to someone new and introduce myself. See what they’re all about and what they need, and then see if I can provide that for them or know someone who can.

I’ve been able to introduce clients to new business opportunities, make deep friendships with solopreneurs that are making a big difference on this planet, and even inspire a Millennial Thought Leaders Conference hosted by Millennial Magazine through a tweet.

One of the connections that I made through doing this read into my akashic records and said that I was an Illuminary. She said,” Imagine everyone on this planet with a light within them. Some have dim lights and others are super bright. What you do is you go up to people, like a little gypsy with a match, and make their lights brighter!” I thought that was cute, so I wanted to add that 🙂

Attracting more gypsies with matches, please!

8. What would you like your epitaph to read?

She did it!
