It is my mission is to enable misfit entrepreneurs.
For me it is all about inspiring as many people as possible to listen to their gut and follow their intuition!!
So, I’m lifting the lid on ‘entrepreneurship’ and asking people who are walking their talk to answer my 8 in 8
– Eight quick fire questions, in eight minutes, not too much thinking – straight from their hearts.
Be sure to check back each week for a little more quick fire inspiration, I update them every other week… (why not sign up to my mailing list to make sure you don’t miss out?)
1, 2, 3 GO!
1. What does being an Entrepreneur mean to you?
Freedom, being around my family when they need me, feeling empowered, and being able to have a bath at 1pm in the afternoon and reply to emails at the same time! FREEDOM right?
2. What did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a really young girl I was engrossed in Jimmy’s (TV show) and really wanted to become a doctor, but as I grew up I became selfish and knew I would be rubbish at caring for people (haha). Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I wanted to run my own business. But in the early 90’s only the ‘wealthy’ were able to do that, and the concept of Virtual Working wasn’t even out there. I just knew it would happen one day. And it did.
3. When did you decide to be self employed?
I didn’t decide.. it just happened purely by accident. I had a successful career in the NHS, but decided to take a year out on maternity leave. About 9 months in, I became a bore, lacked conversation other that dirty nappies and how much my son would be sick during the day. I lost myself. So I decided to do some freelancing utilising my skills…and as they say the rest is history (cliche but had to say it)
4.Who inspires you?
My children, they’re free, careless and brave. In fact, anyone who is brave enough to go out there and do what the hell they want, without breaking the law or upsetting anyone of course.
5. What is non negotiable in your schedule?
I don’t work when my children are around. It’s my time, and it’s the reason I’m doing what I’m doing
6. What makes you feel ARGH!?
Office politics and rush hour traffic
7. What do you do that helps you to feel more AHHH!?
Work for myself of course! No office politics, no bitching and no rush hour traffic. Bliss
8. What would you like your epitaph to read?
She knew what she wanted so she did it. Her own way
